Selected work

Grouped by who buys, not by what we felt like showing.

Every entry states an outcome. Where an outcome was actually measured, it is labeled. Where it was not, it says what changed rather than inventing a percentage.

Health plans and insurers

Three payers, including two Blues plans and one ancillary carrier. This is the core of the practice.

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Measured

The largest health insurer in Arkansas

9 years 8 months, in-house

Built and presented the social media ROI case to the executive committee, then launched and ran the program: strategy, content calendars, a team of writers and designers, paid Facebook campaigns, a 24/7 social listening calendar, and social customer-service triage.

Outcome

The #TGFI campaign grew Facebook followers 42% and contributed to an 8% increase in 2016 private-option sales among millennial customers. The ROI case is what got social media approved at the executive committee in the first place.

Blue Cross of Idaho

Regional Blues plan

2 years, consulting

Took over dormant channels as social media strategist and built the strategy and workflow from nothing — content calendars across multiple company divisions, a social customer-service triage process, and the team to run it.

Outcome

A plan that started with dark channels finished with a running content operation across multiple divisions and a triage process for member questions arriving on social.

USAble Life

Ancillary and supplemental carrier — life, dental, vision, disability

6 years, ongoing

Content calendar, copywriting, and scheduling for Facebook and LinkedIn, working alongside in-house designers.

Outcome

A six-year continuous engagement. The carrier has renewed the work every year since 2020 rather than moving it in-house or to an agency.

Independent clinics and practices

Independent practices in the Little Rock metro. Short decisions, direct owners, patient-facing content.

Central Arkansas Ophthalmology

Independent specialty clinic, Little Rock

Facebook content for both the clinic and its optical department — patient education, procedure explainers, and practice news.

Outcome

Two distinct content streams running from one calendar: clinical education for the practice and retail content for the optical department.

All For Kids Pediatric Clinic

Independent pediatric practice, Little Rock

Social content development for Facebook and Instagram — copy, images, calendar, and scheduling.

Outcome

A practice with no marketing staff moved from ad-hoc posting to a scheduled calendar it did not have to write itself.

Healthcare nonprofits

Community health organizations in central Arkansas.

Young professionals arm of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas and North Louisiana

Social content, images, and content calendar aimed at reach, engagement, and membership growth.

Outcome

A volunteer-run chapter got a maintained content calendar and a consistent membership-recruitment message.

Published health content

Bylined and ghostwritten health writing for publications and consumer health brands.

Arkansas Flavor (Arkansas Times)

Regional publication

Two bylined health articles: “A Primary Care Physician: Your guide to better health and preventive care” and “Complex Carbs — Fuel for a Healthy Life.”

Outcome

Two published, bylined health features in a regional publication — first-party evidence of health writing under her own name.

Consumer health ingredient brand (CoQ10)

Three ghostwritten health pieces: fall prevention and healthy aging, sleep, and reproductive health.

Outcome

Three pieces commissioned and published on consumer health topics that require accuracy without clinical jargon.

Websites and content architecture

Content architecture, navigation, and copy on full site redesigns — with Jason Miller on development.

Employer Services Assurance Corporation — accreditation and financial assurance body for the PEO industry

Stakeholder audience research, navigation restructuring, and rewritten copy and headings.

Outcome

ESAC changed design vendors afterwards and kept the copy and navigation structure. The content architecture outlived the design it was built for.

Core banking software (SIBanking), Little Rock

Reworked content and navigation with stakeholders and the in-house development team.

Outcome

Shipped a restructured site for a regulated-industry software buyer. Jason Miller was lead developer.

Delivered as a pair — content and IA from Heather, development by Jason.

Brasuell Law Firm

Legal

Full redesign — new logo, color scheme, and design with a designer; all copy rewritten; navigation rebuilt.

Outcome

A complete brand and site replacement delivered end to end by the two of us, with Jason as developer.

Delivered as a pair — content and IA from Heather, development by Jason.

Proptech — rental risk mitigation

Rewrote and wrote web copy during a strategic repositioning, working directly with key stakeholders.

Outcome

New positioning carried through the site copy during a live repositioning, not after it.

Agency partners

Agencies that subcontract specialist healthcare and insurance writing.

Full-service digital marketing agency, Denver

Ghostwritten blog content for four of their end clients, including three health pieces for Kaneka Ubiquinol.

Outcome

A repeat white-label relationship: six commissioned pieces across four client accounts.

UX and UI design and research agency, Chicago

Social copy, content calendar, image creation, and scheduling across Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.

Outcome

A UX research agency outsourced its content to us — the natural pairing for content-architecture work.

Full-service ad agency, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Facebook copy, content calendar, and scheduling on a client account.

Outcome

White-label social production delivered under the agency's name.

Other sectors

Work outside healthcare. Kept for the record; it is not what we are selling.

International Realtime Court Reporting Institute

Professional education

Facebook and Instagram content and image creation.

Outcome

Ran the institute's social channels on a maintained calendar.

Bowmen Injury Attorneys · RedSky · Propeller

Legal, construction software, and management consulting — via Fruition

Ghostwritten blog content, including a piece explaining comparative fault to non-lawyers.

Outcome

Three technical subjects turned into plain-language articles for non-expert readers.

On the absence of testimonials

There are no client quotes on this site yet. Much of the work is internal member communication for insurers, which does not get published with a byline, and we would rather show an empty space than write praise on a client’s behalf. References are available on request for the engagements where the client has agreed to give one.

Send us one document. We will show you the rewrite.

A free 30-minute plain-language audit of any member- or patient-facing document. We score it, mark it up, and walk you through what we would change. You keep the marked-up copy either way.
